History

Walailak University is a quality higher education institution at the international level, which aims to respond to local problems and needs, with a digital technology infrastructure to support all missions of the university, including the efficient and maximum benefit of shared resources. By adhering to the principle of “integrated service, coordinated mission” The Center for Digital Technology Walailak University was established under the Walailak University Act 1992, which was announced in the Royal Gazette, Volume 109, Part 40, dated April 7, 1992, and the Walailak University Regulations on the Establishment of Faculties, Institutes, Centers or Other Units. 1998 The operation of The Center for Digital Technology has a history as follows

    • In 1995, The Center for Digital Technology was originally called The Center for Computer Services and started its first operation at the Walailak University Coordination Unit, Laem Thong Building, Bangkok, under the supervision of Associate Professor Dr. Chaiwit Silawatthanani.
    • Later, The Center for Computer Services moved to operate at the SM Tower Building, Bangkok.
    • When Walailak University moved its office from Bangkok to Tha Sala District, Nakhon Si Thammarat Province, The Center for Computer Services moved to operate temporarily at the Research Building.
    • After the construction of the office building was completed, The Center for Digital Technology moved its office to operate permanently at the Computer Building until now. And the university has appointed the first acting director of The Center for Digital Technology, Associate Professor Dr. Poolpong Boonpramarn, on December 1, 1997.

The Center for Digital Technology is one of the units of Walailak University, which aims to be a unit that provides integrated services, coordinates and provides computer and digital technology infrastructure services, develops information systems and software applications, and analyzes data. in-depth to support the management, academic and service work of various units in the university.
