Royal Command Appointing Prof. Dr. Sombat Thamrongthanyawong as President of Walailak University for a Second Term

On September 30, 2024, the Royal Gazette published an announcement from the Office of the Prime Minister regarding the appointment of the President of Walailak University, stating:

Whereas His Majesty the King had previously appointed Mr. Sombat Thamrongthanyawong to the position of President of Walailak University, effective from December 10, 2017, as per the announcement of the Prime Minister’s Office dated December 13, 2017, and whereas Mr. Sombat Thamrongthanyawong has completed his term in office;

By virtue of Section 22 of the Walailak University Act, B.E. 2535 (1992), the Walailak University Council, in its meeting No. 1/2022 (confidential agenda) on January 8, 2022, resolved to submit for His Majesty’s consideration the reappointment of Mr. Sombat Thamrongthanyawong to the position of President of Walailak University for another term.

The Secretariat of the Cabinet has submitted this matter for His Majesty’s consideration, and His Majesty the King has now graciously issued a Royal Command appointing the aforementioned person to the position of President of Walailak University, effective from June 30, 2024.
