The Center for Digital Technology of Walailak University, in collaboration with the School of Liberal Arts and General Education, has developed an automated essay grading system (using keywords) for the pilot course GEN64-112 Communication Techniques in Contemporary Society. On January 31, 2024, from 17:00 to 18:30, at the Computer Laboratory, Computer Building, Digital Technology Center, a test of the automated essay grading system was conducted through computers with the participation of 200 volunteer students. The event was presided over by Assistant Professor Dr. Nichanan Kittiphattanabawon, Vice President, along with Assistant Professor Dr. Thimaporn Phetkaew, Director of the Digital Technology Center, and Assistant Professor Piyachat Soonti, Deputy Dean of the School of Liberal Arts and General Education. Additionally, the project included a team of lecturers: Lecturer Methas Siriwan, Lecturer Siriporn Tansuwan, Lecturer Kritsada Kantichol, and Lecturer Pawirasa Praditsorn, as well as the system development team comprising Ms. Nawaphon Chaisena and Ms. Chulaporn Phankhamnid, Computer System Analysts at The Center for Digital Technology.The testing proceeded smoothly, and the next plan is to test the system with approximately 1,200 students for the entire course on March 3, 2024.
