The Center for Digital Technology held its first committee meeting of 2023 at Walailak University, with the goal of transforming the university into a digital institution.
Professor Dr. Sombat Thamrongthanyawong, Acting President of Walailak University, presided over the first committee meeting of the Center for Digital Technology on Wednesday, August 21, 2023, from 1:30 PM to 4:00 PM, at the Chorpradu Chamber, WU Hospital.
The primary agenda of the meeting was to discuss the Digital Transformation Plan for Walailak University from 2024 to 2027. The committee comprised esteemed experts in digital technology and representatives from various faculties within the university. Notably, two external experts were invited: Professor Dr. Boonserm Kijsirikul, a renowned computer engineering professor at Chulalongkorn University, and Dr. Thepchai Supnithi, Director of the Artificial Intelligence Research Group at NECTEC.
Assistant Professor Dr. Nichnan Kittiphattanabawon, Assistant to the President, presented the background, significance, and development process of the Digital Transformation Plan. Assistant Professor Dr. Thimaporn Phetkaew, Acting Director of the Center for Digital Technology, and Dr. Chirawat Wattanapanich, Acting Deputy Director, provided updates on the center’s operations and the current state of digital technology at Walailak University.
The committee provided valuable insights and recommendations to guide the development of the Digital Transformation Plan, paving the way for Walailak University to become a fully digital institution within the next four years.
