Walailak University Convenes Center, Institute, and Park Directors for Digital Strategy Meeting

On Thursday, July 4, 2023, Walailak University’s Center for Digital Technology hosted a stakeholder meeting to gather input from directors of centers, institutes, and parks for the development of the university’s digital strategy for the years 2025-2028. The meeting took place in the Khao Luang Meeting Room of the Cooperative Education Building.

Assistant Professor Dr. Thimaporn Phetkaew, Acting Director of the Center for Digital Technology, welcomed the attendees, and Assistant Professor Dr. Nichanan Kittipattanabawon, Assistant Vice President, provided a brief overview of the meeting’s objectives.

Building on the previous discussions with other stakeholder groups, Professor Dr. Sombat Thamrongthanawong reiterated the importance of a comprehensive digital strategy in positioning Walailak University as a digitally-driven institution. He emphasized the need for robust infrastructure, technology integration into all operations, especially education, fostering innovation, and data-driven decision-making. Additionally, Professor Sombat highlighted the significance of developing digital skills among students and staff and the potential of artificial intelligence (AI) to enhance various aspects of university operations, from teaching and learning to administrative tasks.

Assistant Professor Dr. Nichanan provided a summary of the university’s previous digital development plan and outlined the goals of the new strategy, which aims to transform Walailak University into a smart campus encompassing various aspects of university life.

The meeting involved group discussions and presentations, allowing participants to share their insights and recommendations for the digital strategy. The specific focus on center, institute, and park directors ensured that the strategy would address the unique needs and perspectives of these units.
